Every golfer (and their spouses) have the Scottish to thank for creating this insane sport that makes us doubt our very basic physical abilities during our low times and feel indestructible during our high times. Links golf was invented in Scotland out of a need for simplicity in constructing courses. They simply didn’t have machines large enough to move and shape courses like we have today, so the first courses were built into the existing landscape. Links style courses are typically built on a coastline, with uneven, sandy fairways, little to no trees, strong, changing winds, and tons of #holysh!t moments. Bandon Dunes is one of the few links style courses available in the USA, providing a golf haven for purists and hobbyists alike. In October, me and 3 of my buddies escaped out to Bandon for a trip of a lifetime. (a distant 2nd to my own destination wedding - hi babe!)
